Literature Text

Before disbelieving eyes
Did our ambitions crumble

Resistances formed and battles won
Our goal was valiant
Glittering gold and flame

Alas, as our armies fell
And our influence was rendered null
We scattered like dust in the wind

So cowed we were
Trembling like autumn leaves
In the wake of our defeat

Until, humbled, we realized

Although blinded by doubt
The sun would yet rise
Glittering gold and flame

And bathed in warm light
Ever would our ambitions live on
2 of 4: The prompts shall be enjoyable this week. Expect a mix of narrative and story poetry!

Written for the weekly prompt in TheWriterGang!

Much delay between the first poem and those to come in the next two days, but I have been quite exhausted as of late.
No matter though! The poetry must go on. ^^

This is wonderful. The narrative very much reminds me of The Band of The Hawk, the plight of the Hawk of Light/Darkness from the manga Berserk.
